Every School is different and our workshops are bespoke to the student’s needs, interests and abilities. For example, some schools have chosen creative-media focused sessions that include preservation of heritage through filming and interview skills, while others have explored art and belonging through heritage activities and visual storytelling.

All sessions are delivered by experienced facilitators with expertise.

Through workshops and hands-on activities, we encourage students to explore identity, culture, and creativity. Our work in schools aims to connect students with their communities, spark curiosity, and provide new ways to express their ideas. We explore different ways to engage the young people, from cooking, media, filmmaking and heritage projects.

School Profiles

Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is a secondary school serving the wider Walsall community. LGK has delivered workshops with a focus on Belonging, reflecting the school’s commitment to supporting students as they move through key stages. Because many pupils transition from Ryders Hayes Primary School, our work at both schools is connected through shared themes of belonging and heritage, helping to strengthen continuity between the two learning environments.
Ryders Hayes is a primary school in Pelsall and a key feeder school for Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy. LGK has delivered workshops with their Year 5 pupils, exploring themes of belonging and heritage. This shared approach across Ryders Hayes and Shelfield helps reinforce common values and supports pupils as they prepare for the move to secondary education. Additional sessions are planned for the coming term.
Walsall Studio School specialises in creative and media-focused education for older students. Following our pilot workshops, selected students took part in a voluntary two-week internship, choosing specific areas of interest to develop their skills. Completing the internship enables them to progress to the Media Heritage Ambassador course, supporting hands-on learning and industry-aligned experience. Our continuing partnership builds on this practical, creative pathway.
